Inspired by The Alphabet Conspiracy and other educational films from the 1950’s and 1960’s, TELEPHONEME is a hybrid live-action and animated short created by design collective MK12 about the science of the alphabet and sinister hidden messages carried by language. While working at MK12, I was responsible for 3D modeling the mid-century home exteriors in the short film, as well as animating the particle text “NEVER KILL A SNAKE WITH YOUR BARE HANDS”. Fun fact, that scene was shot practically using coffee grounds and a rubber membrane stretched over a speaker we played the phrase back through to displace the coffee grind particles. I also designed and animated the second short clip on this page titled Telephoneme Blipvert A. I also produced a limited edition run of hand screen-printed Telephoneme posters, along with a couple of digital posters.
