AESTHETIX is the online portfolio and identity of professional creative director, designer, and motion graphic artist Shawn Burns. Shawn has 24 years of design, screen printing, additive manufacturing, product design, and digital content creation experience. He has spent his professional career designing, directing, animating and developing impactful multimedia strategies for print, web, film, retail, and television for startups and fortune 500 companies like Apple, Amazon, Google, and Samsung.
Born in 1984, he took his first freelance job at the age of 16 while still in high school. He got his start freelancing by designing web and print work for various independent record labels and magazines prior to pursuing art school. After attending community college for film and video production, he attended and graduated with honors from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) majoring in Broadcast Design and Motion Graphics.
After SCAD he went straight to work for the legendary MK12 artist collective for 7 years designing, animating, and creative directing various commercial projects.
He later founded and operated a design and screen printing business Sonic Weapon providing apparel, branding, design, and print services. He also co-founded cannabis concentrate themed apparel brand WAXTRONAUT which was later acquired and converted into an existing recreational cannabis concentrate product line in the state of Washington.
He has recently served as a designer and creative director for 11 different cannabis industry brands, where he crafted and successfully launched 5 original brand concepts – Waxtronaut, Proper, Cosmic Supply Company, Twisted Legion, and Moon Bars into the legal Washington cannabis market.
He is currently the Creative Director and operator of Mothership Brands, where he designs and sells various products to retail and wholesale customers.
